FAQ

Find here answers to the most frequent questions about WeDream.

1. Discovery & Getting Started

What is WeDream and how is it different from a traditional online crowdfunding pot?

A traditional pot only collects money from strangers or vague acquaintances. WeDream is a global mutual aid platform centered on a private circle of loved ones (family, friends). It brings together everything a project really needs to succeed: funding, time (childcare, helping hand), equipment, or skills.

Is access to the platform paid?

No, access to WeDream and creating a circle are free. We do not take any hidden commission on your project's funds.

Are my personal data sold or used for advertising purposes?

Absolutely not. No algorithm pushes sponsored content, and we do not resell any data. Your personal information is securely stored in compliance with GDPR.

2. Creating & Modeling a Dream

What is a Dream on WeDream?

A Dream is a concrete life project (e.g. creating a pottery studio, organizing a family world tour, preparing a marathon). To become achievable, it is broken down in the Resource Basket into 4 elements: A What (global vision), A When (target date and progress milestones), A Financial How much (necessary budget), A Human How much (time, childcare, equipment loan, or advice).

Do I have to ask for money to launch a Dream?

No. You can launch a Dream composed solely of needs in time, logistics, or advice (e.g. need for 2h of childcare per week or a helping hand for moving).

3. Circle Mobilization & Management

Who can see my projects and join my circle?

Only people you share your private invitation link with (via WhatsApp, SMS, email) can see your Dream. Your projects are neither indexed on search engines nor displayed publicly.

Do my loved ones have to fill out a long form to help me?

No. To avoid friction, access is seamless via Magic Link (secure link sent by email) or in one click via Google / Apple Sign-In.

How to prevent reminders from becoming burdensome for my loved ones?

WeDream advocates digital sobriety: no untimely notifications or addiction incentives. The platform simply invites you to post a short progress update (every two weeks for example) that your loved ones receive at their own pace.

4. Contribution & Mutual Aid (Loved Ones Side)

How can I help if I can't afford to give money?

That's the whole principle of the Resource Basket: your time, your know-how, or your equipment are worth as much as money. You can validate a childcare request, offer 2h of DIY, or proofread an administrative file.

How is the donation of time or childcare organized?

When a time need is posted, you click I'll take care of it. You agree on details with the project owner via the shared calendar or circle discussion thread.

5. Payments, Security & Closing

How are financial flows secured?

All money transfers are handled by our certified partner Stripe. Money is kept in secure, segregated escrow accounts. WeDream never has access to your bank details.

When and how does the project owner recover the funds?

Once their bank account is verified (KYC) and milestones reached, the project owner can unlock accumulated funds via direct transfer to their account.

What happens once the Dream is accomplished?

The project owner publishes the final update (photos, thanks) to celebrate success with their circle. The circle remains active to welcome another group member's Dream!
